Captured: Men’s Basketball: Northwestern grinds out 68-63 win against Penn State

Fresh off a dominant victory Wednesday against Nebraska, Northwestern returned to Welsh-Ryan Arena to take on Penn State for the second time this season. Similar to their January matchup, in which NU won 76-72, the Wildcats (17-7, 8-5 Big Ten) narrowly defeated the Nittany Lions (12-12, 6-7 Big Ten), 68-63. With senior guard Ty Berry sidelined with a knee injury, sophomore forward Nick Martinelli shined in his place, scoring 11 points and snagging 8 rebounds. All five ‘Cats starters scored in double figures Sunday; graduate student guard Boo Buie led the team with 15 points. Junior guard Brooks Barnhizer and graduate student guard Ryan Langborg each added 14 points. NU will head on the road to New Jersey next Thursday as they take on Rutgers.
