Ilana Arougheti, In Focus Editor
Ilana is a Medill senior from New Jersey majoring in journalism and sociology with a minor in gender and sexuality studies. They currently work as In Focus Editor and as a returning D&I Chair. Their previous roles included City Editor, Development and Recruitment Editor and Copy Chief. This past summer, they were a metro reporting intern at The News & Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina. They've covered local politics, housing equity, education, opioids, policing, gun violence, arts, the LGBTQ+ community and more.
