Stacey Kostell has been named vice president and dean of enrollment, the University announced Monday.
Since March 2020, Kostell has served as chief executive officer of the Coalition for College, an organization that aims to expand access to higher education by providing resources for students to research colleges and prepare their applications.
“Her wealth of experience and accomplishments will help us build upon the success of the undergraduate admissions team,” Provost Kathleen Hagerty said in the release. “Stacey will be a critical leader as Northwestern continues to prioritize diversity in its student body.”
Kostell will join NU on Aug. 28, three days before Chris Watson, the University’s associate vice president for student outreach and dean of undergraduate enrollment, will retire.
She has previously held leadership positions in the admissions departments of Arizona State University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Vermont
“Higher education is a life-changing experience, especially for students who are first in their family to attend college,” Kostell said in the release. “I am constantly inspired by students, their stories of resilience, their creativity and their desire to make the world a better place.”
