Northwestern men’s basketball continued its offseason rebuild by picking up former Penn guard Dylan Williams, he announced Friday on his social media.
Williams transferred to Penn after two seasons of play at junior college. His sophomore year at Triton College saw him transform into one of the top players on a team that made the NJCAA National Championship game.
The Columbia, South Carolina, native scored more than 15 points per game and shot more than 40% from 3-point range that season, earning the league’s “Best Small Man” award.
Once Williams got to Penn, he continued to develop as a player. During the 2024-25 season, he ranked eighth on the Quakers in points per 40 minutes with 10.2 on 32% shooting.
This season, he was on pace to maintain his performance at 9.8 points per 40 minutes before sustaining a season-ending injury seven games into the season.
Williams joins the Wildcats with one year of eligibility remaining as a depth piece on the backcourt with returning guards freshman Jake West and sophomore Angelo Ciaravino.
After seeing nine players enter the transfer portal this offseason, coach Chris Collins has rebuilt his roster through the portal. Guard Aleksej Kostić, forward Okku Federiko, guard LA Pratt, forward Colin Smith, forward Luke McEldon and forward Jack Karasinski have joined NU for the 2026-27 season.
The seven transfers are joined by three incoming recruits: center Symon Ghai, forward Jayden Hodge and preferred walk-on guard Elijah Eschmeyer.
