Northwestern undergraduate tuition will increase by 3.5% for the 2026-27 academic year, the University announced in a Wednesday news release.
The cost of undergraduate tuition will be $71,802, with total expenses, including standard room and board and other fees, reaching around $96,000. The 2025-26 academic year’s direct tuition cost was $92,564, according to the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid website.
The 2026-27 figure does not include other indirect costs, such as books, supplies and transportation.
The individual cost of standard room and board will increase by $966, while the sum of other fees will increase by $46, according to the release.
Last year, undergraduate tuition saw a 3.3% increase. The Daily reported that tuition has steadily increased for over a decade.
The University will continue to meet cost-of-attendence needs without loans for eligible students, staying consistent with its 2016 policy establishing that practice, according to the news release.
