ADÉLA is claiming her spot as an heir to the pop music throne.
Adéla Jergová, who goes by the stage name ADÉLA, took the United Center by storm on Friday, performing high energy pop songs as the opener for Demi Lovato’s “It’s Not That Deep Tour.”
The 22-year-old Slovak singer, dancer and songwriter first rose to prominence when she competed on the same reality TV show that formed global girl group KATSEYE in 2023. Scouted by HYBE and Geffen Records for “The Debut: Dream Academy,” Jergová’s potential was recognized early.
Her journey on the show was cut short when she was eliminated during fan voting. Judges thought ADÉLA would be better as a solo artist — and that’s what she became.
ADÉLA released her first singles, “Homewrecked” and “Superscar,” independently in 2024. It wasn’t long before she was picked up by Capitol Records, a historic label that boasts popstars like Katy Perry and Troye Sivan.
She released her debut EP, “The Provocateur,” in August. Her work was met with praise from critics and fans alike, capturing eyes on social media with the provocative “SexOnTheBeat” and the Grimes-produced “MachineGirl.”
ADÉLA went on her own small tour, appropriately called The ProvacaTour, in 2025. The demand was much larger than the supply of tickets. She only performed four shows — all of which were packed.
Then, ADÉLA was hand-selected by Lovato to open her 2026 tour. With her striking, edgy look and assertive stage presence, she owned the United Center stage.
The pink-haired pop singer is clearly on an upward trajectory. She recently released the single “KGB” alongside an effortlessly cool and cinematic music video, reminiscent of a Lady Gaga project.
Her performance of “KGB” in Chicago was stellar. The catchy song blends aspects of electronic pop, dance pop and house music, and she performed it with her typical spunk. She also nailed the song’s iconic dance break.
ADÉLA is also a classically trained ballet dancer, and she puts that background to use. She put on her pointe shoes and tutu to perform “DeathByDevotion,” highlighting her ballet skills. The lyrics of the song seemed to capture the years of tireless training she went through to perfect her dancing.
But the highlight of ADÉLA’s performance was her slowed rendition of “Homewrecked.” Like her other songs, this one sounds like a classic, energetic pop song. But she turned it into a ballad where she, alone on stage, could display her vocal talents. The performance was stunning.
ADÉLA has promised fans an album in 2026. She performed two unreleased songs at the Chicago concert — and if those songs were any indication, the album is going to be a hit.
