For the second year in a row, the Evanston Public Library has won Best Sustainable Organization.
The library is home to over 315,000 books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and newspapers and offers study spaces, legal resources and printing facilities for residents.
Moving forward, EPL’s Strategic Plan 2025-2027 outlines how they plan to make these resources more sustainable and promote similar initiatives through their social programs.
This year, EPL strives to integrate 25% sustainable building elements and to work with local organizations like the Evanston Environmental Association and Evanston Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department to promote recreation, environmental health and wellness initiatives.
EPL also won Best Place to Work, showing how positive environments can have impressionable impacts on those around them. The library features seven study rooms at the main branch and three at the Robert Crown branch.
Looking to host a meeting or event? EPL also has you covered. For a small fee you can book out three different rooms with a variety of equipment.
So next time you are looking for a good book or a nice study spot, make the Evanston Public Library your next stop.
