Wild Fork Meat & Seafood Market closed its Evanston location in January.
With over 60 stores nationwide, Wild Fork was not able to keep its spot on Main Street due to low sales, according to Evanston Now.
Since February 2022, the grocery chain has offered a variety of over 450 “blast frozen” meats and seafood to the Evanston community. Blast freezing ensures the preservation of meat texture and a freshness in flavor. The store also sold desserts, fresh produce and breads to pair with the meat.
The clean and tidy interior allowed customers to easily grab their choice of meat from the freezers within the store. Frequent customers praised the relatively affordable prices for high quality meats, according to the store’s Google reviews.
For the saddened fans of Wild Fork, keep your head up. The next closest Wild Fork is approximately 4.5 miles away in Skokie. There are delivery and pick-up options through its website as well.
