Junior Preston Knott steps up to the plate Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats will be playing in Wrigley Field on Friday night.

On Friday, Northwestern baseball is set to make its third-ever Wrigley Field appearance.

This will be NU’s seventh appearance within the walls of the Friendly Confines. Previously, the Wildcats have played three football games, two baseball games and one lacrosse game at the field.

NU has yet to win a football game at Wrigley Field, most recently suffering a tight loss against Iowa last season. In contrast, baseball and lacrosse have yet to lose at the Cubs’ home field.

“It’s one of the best venues for sports in the world, and we’re fortunate to have a partnership with the Cubs,” said baseball head coach Ben Greenspan. “It’s a great thing for recruiting. It’s a great thing for our players to experience.”
