Police arrested a Chicago man Sunday after officers found 31 grams of marijuana in his car, police said.

At about 11:55 p.m., police stopped a driver after he made a right turn without using his turn signal, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. Officers saw a clear plastic bag with “suspect cannabis,” Dugan said, and the vehicle also smelled of “unburnt” cannabis. There was also an open bottle of Hennessey cognac, and the driver had a suspended license, Dugan said.

The man was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, driving on suspended license, transportation of open alcohol and failure to signal, Dugan said.
