Northwestern’s overall admissions rate for its Class of 2030 remained around 7%, similar to that for its Class of 2029.
Prospective first-year students received regular decision results Wednesday afternoon. The incoming class will consist of about 2,100 students, according to a letter sent that day from Dean of Undergraduate Admission Liz Kinsley to college counselors.
Kinsley wrote that the pool consisted of over 54,000 applications, a slight increase from more than 53,000 applications in the previous admission cycle.
More than half of the incoming class was admitted through early decision in December. NU received 5,600 early decision applications, about a 7% decrease compared to the Class of 2029.
The 2025-26 admission cycle was the first time the University accepted the optional application supplement “Dialogues.” Through the program, applicants submit portfolios after having conversations about political and cultural topics.
Students admitted through regular decision must accept offers by May 1.
