Treat mom to the finer things in Evanston

Hayley Glatter, Copy Chief

You literally wouldn’t be here without your mom.

I know, super shocking.

Well if that fact wasn’t exactly revelatory, here’s one that might be: Mother’s Day is Sunday. If you’re lucky enough to be graced with your mommy’s presence on her special day, be sure to treat her to a nice brunch because it’s practically scientifically proven that women love brunch.

There are plenty of places to get waffles in Evanston (although, none to get wonuts. This is such a travesty. We should talk to someone about this wonut desert. But, alas, I digress). That being said, some are better than others at serving up the most important meal of the day. Be sure to check out the best places to brunch below.

Bottle and Bottega

1016 Davis St.

Embrace your artsy side and your hungry side at Bottle and Bottega’s Mother’s Day painting party and brunch. Not only will you get to enjoy a brunch buffet from Blind Faith Cafe, but you’ll also be able to get creative with the woman that gave you life. Painting, food and motherly bonding time is a pretty solid combo. Plus, for the 21-and-up crowd, Bottle and Bottega is hosting a moms and mimosas painting party later in the day. If I were of legal age, I’d probably be into that.

Bistro Bordeaux

618 Church St.

Many a mom, mine included, likes to cook and considers herself a foodie. The Bistro Bordeaux menu will fit the bill for the lady who likes the fancy things in life. The menu features fancy-sounding dishes (I know they’re fancy because the titles are in French) ranging from a special quiche of the day to classic brioche French toast.

Koi Fine Asian Cuisine and Lounge

624 Davis St.

For the mama who is into more than just your classic mimosa, the Koi brunch menu will surely offer an alternative food experience. The Asian restaurant will be serving up a dim sum brunch with close to 60 different delicacies. Dim sum’s inherently shareable nature will make it an excellent meal to share with your loved ones.

So, if you’ll be in your mama’s company this Sunday, treat her to something scrumptious and special. If you won’t get to see her, at least give her a call or something. She probably misses you.
