Evanston man pleads not guilty to attacking, prostituting teenage runaway

An Evanston man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to beating and prostituting a 14-year-old runaway girl, according to a Cook County Circuit Court official.

Donzell Mintz, 22, faces 14 charges, including involuntary sexual servitude of a minor, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated domestic battery, court clerk Denise Fitzpatrick said. He was ordered held on a $600,000 bond in September.

Mintz abducted the girl after meeting her in August on the South Side of Chicago and then brought her to Evanston a few days later, according to prosecutors. He is also accused of forcing her into prostitution, having sex with her and striking her in the face during an argument.

Mintz is due back in court Dec. 4, Fitzpatrick said.
