Romney-Ryan yard sign stolen

A 57-year-old Evanston resident said a presidential campaign yard sign was stolen Tuesday from his front yard in the 2300 block of Grant Street.

The resident reported that his yard sign supporting former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) sign was stolen some time between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The suspect remains unknown, said Cmdr. Jay Parrott.

Resident reports vegetation removal

An Evanston resident said damage to the vegetation of exercising studio CrossFit e-town, 2125 Ashland Ave., occurred some time between 3 p.m. Monday and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

All of the vegetation was pulled out and scattered at the CrossFit e-town front entrance, the 32-year-old resident said. Parrott did not disclose any further information on the case.
