No political yard signs allowed in public spaces

The city of Evanston sent out a notice Wednesday that political yard signs are not allowed on public property.

With the election less than a week away, city officials reminded residents and anyone associated with any of the campaigns to not place yard signs on street corners and grassy areas in between the sidewalk and the street.

According to the alert, the signs will be removed by the Streets and Sanitation Division and will be placed behind the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave., for anyone who wishes to reclaim them.
