THURSDAYTOURING THE THEATRE

No reservations are necessary and for only $5 per person you can take a one-hour tour that covers the historical and architectural highlights of the Chicago Theatre. You’ll see the lobby, auditorium and be taken backstage if possible. Tours are every Tuesday and Thursday at noon.

FRIDAYROCK MUSIC AT THE ZOO

Stop by the Lincoln Park Zoo to see Fastball and Blind Melon play sets on the park’s Main Mall. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and beer and wine will be sold during the concert. Not interested in the acts? The Lion House and Sea Lion Pool will be open during the show.

SATURDAYCELEBRATE DIVERSITY

Starting at 11 a.m. this Saturday, the Disability Pride Parade is held every year to celebrate a natural part of human diversity. Watch the parade march down Dearborn St. and end up at the Daley Plaza for a post-parade celebration to take place all afternoon in the heart of downtown.

SUNDAYBOOK FAIR BROWSING

Make your way to Walton St. for the last day of the Newberry Library Book Fair, where you can browse more than 100,000 donated books organized into 60 different categories. With free admission and plenty of the books priced at $2 or under, there’s no reason to miss this event.
