NU senior gets lead role on Broadway

The chance to appear on Broadway would be a coup for any young actor. For Communication senior Adam Kantor, the chance to play the role of Mark in Rent was the opportunity of a lifetime.

“It’s incredible to think about,” Kantor said. “When I talk about it I can’t believe the words are coming out of my mouth. It’s such an important show that really belongs to our generation.”

Kantor was offered the role in the musical’s final cast earlier this month after auditioning in New York. His character, Mark, is an aspiring bohemian filmmaker who copes as he sees many close friends become infected with HIV and AIDS. The Tony Award-winning musical, based on the opera La Boh
