Cats To Face Hawkeyes In Iowa A Day Late Due To Bad Weather (Men’s Basketball)

Northwestern is set to play at Iowa tonight, a day after the scheduled tipoff because the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Wildcats (12-12, 2-9 Big Ten) are coming off a win against Penn State in their first Big Ten victory in Evanston this year. The win got the Cats out of the conference cellar, as NU is now 10th in the league. Iowa (14-11, 6-5) has won three of four to jump to fourth in the Big Ten.

The Hawkeyes are led by senior Adam Haluska, who sits atop the conference in scoring at 20.8 points per game. Freshman Tyler Smith’s 15.5 points per game are good for sixth in the Big Ten.

Senior Tim Doyle has paced NU this season, averaging almost 11 points, more than five assists and almost two steals a game. Freshman Kevin Coble leads the Cats with 12.7 points and 4.9 rebounds a game.

The Cats last won at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in 2004, and NU has defeated Iowa in four of the last five meetings.
