Woman flees flaming vehicle

A minivan burst into flames in the parking lot of the McCormick Tribune Center on Monday afternoon. No one was hurt. A woman was driving the van — a 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport minivan — at about 4 p.m. when it started smoking, said Captain Bob Hayden of Evanston Fire Department. Officers from University Police made sure the woman was unharmed before driving her away.
