Summer is around the corner and therefore, so are plans with old and new friends. Whether it’s an ice cream trip, a movie night, a picnic or an aquarium visit, we want to look our best. Here are some outfits to consider wearing.
Ice cream trip
A trip for ice cream is one of the most casual summer outings. Depending on our mood, and the weather, my friend and I opt for casual clothes: T-shirts, crop tops, shorts and occasionally, hoodies. However, if you are visiting a new ice cream place and not your local corner ice cream shop, you may want to dress up.
Ice cream shops have a lot of summer colors, so consider wearing pink, white, yellow, orange or blue to complement the decor. Colors like yellow and orange will give you a tropical look, while pink and white give off a sweeter vibe.
You could wear a pink top with a white flowy skirt, and if you have accessories, add some gold jewelry or green accents. A pink or yellow top also works with blue jeans or a denim skirt.
Accessories are something fun to add, but not entirely necessary. Depending on your taste, you may want to add accessories other than jewelry, such as hats, bandanas, glasses or a purse.
Movie theater excursion
When visiting the movie theater or a friend’s house for a movie night or to binge a new series, you may want a comfier fit like a hoodie, comfy shorts, a tank top or skirt. At the same time, you can never go wrong with themed dressing, inspired by the show or movie you plan to watch.
In any case, you can always wear a red, black and white outfit for the movie theater since the basic colors match the scenery. Whether it’s a baggy fit or a casual dress, you can look put together while being on theme.
Picnic
For trips to the park or a picnic, consider wearing vibrant clothes: tank tops, crop tops, floral blouses, dresses, skirts and shorts, if you want to look cute for any group photos. However, also keep in mind potential movement accessibility — consider athletic gear as well if you plan to play a sport along with your picnic.
Aquariums and art museums
A visit to the aquarium or art museums is one of the best ways to relax while spending time with friends and — hopefully — take a picture cute enough to post on Instagram. These types of plans usually require artsy, casual clothes.
For the aquarium, you can never go wrong with white, blue or black. A white top goes great with blue or black jeans, shorts, skirts, pants or sweatpants.
A formal white collared blouse can be paired with denim or white shorts and can be accessorized with gold jewelry. Other cute tank tops and blouses can be paired with denim jeans, shorts or skirts. If the weather allows, you can also wear a tight summer top with baggy sweatpants and add a thin cardigan that complements the colors.
The same can be said for art museums; the best thing you can do is dress in a color combination or mix around different colors. Maybe consider recreating the colors from an art piece you plan to see.
