A new Zenblen tech-enabled smoothie bar was installed in Main Library on the second floor in mid-May.
The vending machine offers six smoothie flavor options: Dragon’s Crush, Berry Strong, Strawberry Banana, Raspberry Chocolate, Peanut Butter Protein and Tropical Citrus.
SESP junior Aliyah Durry, who tried the strawberry banana smoothie, said it was her first time trying a product from a Zenblen machine.
For her, the smoothie was not worth the price.
“It’s good,” Durry said. “It’s better than I was expecting. I don’t know if it was worth my $8.”
She said she would be interested in trying the other flavors since the machine offers a variety of smoothie choices.
On the machine, users can customize their smoothies by removing or adding ingredients as they like. The machine also provides an in-depth nutritional guide for each smoothie.
“Zenblen was added because of its success at the Tech Building,” Canteen Senior Regional Director Roger Sweeney told The Daily in a statement Thursday. “We had space and opportunity to expand Zenblen’s footprint on campus, and it seemed like a good fit.”
McCormick senior Noah Oxfeld had his second smoothie from the Zenblen machine Monday. Oxfeld also chose the strawberry banana smoothie.
Unlike Durry, Oxfeld said the smoothie was worth the money.
“They’re really good,” Oxfeld said. “It’s definitely a motivation to come to the library and get a nice, tasty, protein-packed treat.”
