The Evanston/Skokie School District 65 Board of Education will pay Superintendent Angel Turner $191,000 as part of its mutual separation agreement with her, the district announced Tuesday.
The board voted 5-1 to approve the separation at its Monday meeting.
Turner’s last day at the district will be June 30. Her previous contract had an expiration date of June 30, 2027 and gave the superintendent compensation amounting to over $324,000.
She will also be paid $996.17 per day for her 7.5 unused vacation days, as is required by state law, according to the district’s announcement.
At Monday’s meeting, board members approved former Evanston Township High School District 202 Superintendent Eric Witherspoon to serve as District 65’s interim superintendent. His term begins July 1.
Board President Nichole Pinkard said Monday that the district will look for a permanent replacement during the 2026-27 school year.
