A 57-year-old man died in a reported construction accident at the worksite of the Ann McIlrath Drake Executive Center — formerly the home of the Allen Center — on Thursday, according to a news release from the Evanston Police Department.
At 3:26 p.m., Evanston Police and Fire Department personnel responded to the site, located at 2169 Campus Dr., where the man had been operating equipment on the roof of the building, according to the release. The man reportedly fell approximately four stories and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The release stated there were no signs of criminal activity. Northwestern personnel are working with EPD, and construction contractors are cooperating with the investigation, according to the release.
“We are aware of an incident that took place at the construction site of a new Kellogg building on the Northwestern University campus,” a University spokesperson said Thursday in a statement to The Daily. “Our thoughts are with those involved.”
