Northwestern’s losing streak grew to seven Saturday as a competitive first half unraveled into a 77-58 loss to No. 8 Nebraska at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The ’Cats hung close early and showed promise heading into halftime, but the Cornhuskers seized control with a decisive second-half surge, overwhelming NU with physical play and interior pressure. As Nebraska pulled away, Northwestern struggled to find answers on either end, and a hopeful afternoon quickly turned lopsided. The ’Cats will look to regroup as they head west for a two-game road swing later this week.
