A year after Northwestern’s loss to North Carolina in the national title game, the Wildcats (19-3, 7-1 Big Ten) avenged themselves at home Sunday afternoon, besting the Tar Heels (19-2, 10-0 ACC) 14-11 to win their ninth national title. With a fourth-quarter comeback, the ’Cats made their mark at home at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium.
