A 53-year-old Evanston man was arrested Tuesday evening for trespassing at NorthShore Evanston Hospital, located at 2650 Ridge Ave. Hospital employees had warned the man several times in the past he was not allowed to enter the hospital, Evanston Police Cmdr. Brian Henry said.

After spotting the man again, employees called the Evanston Police Department, who arrested the man and charged him with trespassing. The suspect awaits his court date on June 26.

Man stopped for attempted theft

An Evanston man attempted retail theft at the Home Depot located on Oakton Street, but he was stopped on Tuesday around noon. The suspect was with another man when employees saw them grabbing items. The various tools and products were found within the store, presumed to be dropped by the suspects, Henry said.

One of the men was stopped, while the other could not be found when police arrived. The man was warned not to return to the store. He was not charged with any crimes, as he did not pass the last point of purchase, and no retail theft occurred.
