An Evanston woman reported her car was stolen from the 600 Block of Hull Terrace on Friday morning.

According to Evanston Police Cmdr. Brian Henry, the car was taken between Thursday at 5 p.m. and Friday at 8 a.m. from the parking lot of the owner’s apartment building. The 2015 white Ford Focus had been left unlocked with the keys inside.

The Evanston Police Department recovered the car after it had been involved in a hit-and-run accident. No one was harmed in the accident and Henry said the driver had fled the scene.
