Police said a person was shot and killed on the Howard Street ‘L’ station Tuesday on the border between Evanston and Chicago.

The Evanston Police Department tweeted at around 12:30 p.m. that the Chicago Police Department was responding to a report that person was shot on the CTA platform. CTA then stopped service for the CPD investigation. Trains resumed normal service at around 2 p.m.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the 20-year-old man had gunshot wounds to his chest and neck. He was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital and was pronounced dead, according to the Tribune.

Evanston police at around 1 p.m. said the CPD is still investigating. The Tribune reported that there is no suspect in custody as of 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
