Blotter: $10 worth of quarters stolen from car

A 60-year-old Evanston man reported a theft from his car Tuesday morning.

The resident said he left his car parked in the 800 block of Madison Street at 10 p.m. Monday and returned 9 a.m. Tuesday to find his car unlocked and a bag of quarters worth about $10 and a pocket knife missing from the vehicle, Evanston police Cmdr. Ryan Glew said.

Police have no suspects at this time.

Evanston woman reports damage to her car

A 41-year-old Evanston woman reported finding three scratches on her car Wednesday.

The woman said the three “fresh” scratches occurred sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 3:25 p.m. Wednesday as her car sat in the 800 block of Seward Street. Glew said these damages were one of several recently reported by the woman.

Police believe the damages are intentional and have a suspect, Glew said.
