Northwestern jumped four spots to No. 16 in the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday evening by ESPN.

The Wildcats were helped by a thrilling win over then-No.25 Wisconsin on Saturday, and also advanced thanks to losses by then-No. 18 TCU, then-No. 13 Utah, then-No. 15 LSU and then-No. 19 Houston.

NU closes out its regular season Saturday against Illinois and has a chance to win 10 games for the first time since the 2012 season.
