An Evanston man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a series of burglaries in Park Ridge, Illinois, in which he entered homes when their residents were sleeping, police said.

Park Ridge police charged Alfonso Vega, 36, with two counts of felony residential burglary. In addition to connecting him with burglaries that occurred between Nov. 10 and Nov. 29, officers were able to link him to at least two other burglaries, police said.

Vega went into residences in the early morning while their occupants were asleep and stole a variety of belongings, including computers, credit cards and car keys, police said. He used force to enter one of the houses and accessed the others through unlocked or open garage doors.

Police from Evanston and Morton Grove, Illinois, assisted Park Ridge detectives in the investigation, officials said.
