Football: Miles Shuler carted off with apparent head injury

Junior receiver Miles Shuler left Northwestern’s game against Nebraska late in the third quarter Saturday with what appeared to be a head injury.

After catching a screen pass, Shuler took an arm to the head and collapsed to the ground. He lay on the ground for about 10 minutes and was strapped onto a stretcher and taken off the field.

Shuler stuck up his thumb as he was carried off, to cheers from the Ryan Field crowd. NU tweeted Shuler was “alert and responsive” and taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.
