A man was killed and another man wounded early Saturday morning in two separate shootings that occurred several blocks from Evanston Township High School, police said.

Police responded to shots in the 1900 Block of Brown Avenue at 12:45 a.m. where a man in a vehicle had been shot multiple times, police said. The vehicle had rolled into a tree by the time police arrived. Police said the man, 22-year-old Evanston resident Albert E. Norman, was taken to Evanston Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At about 3:30 a.m., police responded to a second report of shots in the area, where a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in his leg, police said. The man, 50, was in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue and is currently in stable condition after being transported to the Saint Francis Hospital.

Police are currently investigating the incidents and looking into whether or not they were related.
