Stolen car found burning in south Evanston

A stolen car was set ablaze early this morning in south Evanston, according to police.

Officers found a 2012 Nissan on fire at about 3:20 a.m. in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue, EPD spokesman Perry Polinski said. No one was hurt.

The Nissan was reported stolen May 28 in Chicago, Polinski said.

The burning car was reported as a crash, but police believe a man set the Nissan on fire before fleeing the scene in a white vehicle.
