Online petition asks that Bailey ‘not receive drastic punishment’ for sex toy demo

An online petition protesting Northwestern’s investigation of an optional, after-class sex toy demonstration in Prof. John Michael Bailey’s Human Sexuality class last week began circulating Friday. The petition, which was sent out to members of the 600-person class and other University listservs, says that it is “subjective to determine whether or not the event was inappropriate, but we collectively believe that Professor Bailey should not be severely punished for the demonstration.”

As of 5:45 p.m. Thursday, 529 online signatures had been collected.
