NU Special Olympics held “End the R-Word Day” at Norris University Center Tuesday to raise awareness of the “derogatory nature of the word retard.”
The group handed out wristbands, pins, posters and t-shirts to students at Norris. The campaign is part of an effort to make the world a “better place for those with disabilities,” according to an email from the organization.
