Northwestern’s offense ran into a rare wall Thursday night, falling 9-6 to No. 14 Syracuse at Ryan Fieldhouse. The Wildcats (5-2, 0-0 Big Ten) cut the deficit to one before halftime, but their attack stalled for much of the second half as the Orange (5-3, 3-2 ACC) pulled ahead. Despite late goals from senior attacker Madison Taylor and junior midfielder Noel Cumberland, NU was held to its lowest scoring output in more than two seasons.
