Community members gathered for a protest and vigil in downtown Evanston’s Fountain Square on Wednesday after a Minnesota woman was shot and killed by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis.

Evanston-based activist group Pink Poster Club organized the event. Progressive content creator Kat Abughazaleh, Mayor Daniel Biss and State Sen. Mike Simmons (D-Chicago), all Democratic primary candidates in Illinois’ 9th Congressional District, attended the gathering.
