Starting Monday, Evanston will once again provide free beach passes to residents in preparation for public swimming beaches opening May 24.
Community members can pick up passes at the Robert Crown Community Center, Levy Senior Center, Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Chandler-Newberger Community Center and Prieto Community Center, according to an Evanston press release. Proof of residency for every member of a household is required to obtain a beach pass.
This year, families that do not live in Evanston but have students enrolled in Evanston/Skokie School District 65 or at Evanston Township High School are eligible to receive free beach passes as well.
Skokie residents can also purchase non-refundable passes for a discounted price. Daily passes cost $10 for Skokie residents and $12 for non-Skokie residents.
Season passes cost between $24 to $85, depending on the city of residency and the date of purchase. Season passes are valid from the time of purchase through Labor Day, on Sept. 1.
Evanston residents can purchase daily guest passes for $5, and each Evanston household can purchase a maximum of 20 guest passes per season.
