Local businesses in Chicago’s Chinatown, as well as Chinese-owned businesses outside the neighborhood, saw revenues drop dramatically before Governor J.B. Pritzker declared a state of emergency and dining ban in response to a growing number of COVID-19 cases in Illinois. Business owners explain how COVID-19, misinformation and discrimination have negatively impacted the local economy.
