A 50-year-old Evanston man reported that, sometime between Sunday at 11 p.m. and Monday at 1 a.m., someone smashed his car’s windshield and rear window in south Evanston.

The 2014 Subaru was parked in the 1200 block of Lee Street at the time of the incident, Evanston police department spokesman Perry Polinski said.

Polinski said the car windows were smashed with a whiskey bottle that was found near the car.

Man arrested for invalid license

A 25-year-old Chicago resident was pulled over Monday in downtown Evanston just before midnight for expired license plates.

The man was pulled over in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue, Polinski said. After being stopped, an officer discovered he was also in possession of an invalid license and arrested the man in connection with the incident.

The man is set to appear in court on May 24.
