Jane Grover to resign as 7th Ward alderman

Marissa Page, Assistant City Editor

Ald. Jane Grover (7th) announced Friday that she will leave City Council at the end of the year to accept a position in Chicago.

Beginning Dec. 15, Grover will serve as Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s outreach principal. Grover will lead engagement between CMAP and regional elected officials, civic groups and business groups to coordinate planning initiatives.

Grover was elected to serve the 7th Ward in 2009.

“There is no better community than Evanston to do the important work of local public service and it has been a privilege and honor to serve,” she said in a news release. “I have loved this job.”

Correction: A previous version of this story misstated when Grover will begin her new job. She will begin her new job Dec. 15 while still serving as alderman. The Daily regrets the error.
