A First Bank & Trust executive recently began his term as president of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, the bank announced Thursday.

Michael Corr, the senior vice president of commercial banking, has been working at the bank since 2002 and is based out of its main office at 820 Church St. Corr is an active Evanston community member, according to the bank.

“First Bank & Trust believes strongly in being an integral part of the communities we serve,” said Michael Yohanan, marketing manager for First Bank & Trust, in a news release.

Corr’s work in the community includes serving as a board member of Lending for Evanston and Northwestern Development, a board member of Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center in Skokie and a member of the city’s Downtown Performing Arts Center Task Force.

First Bank & Trust’s David Putrus, vice president of banking and branch manager, also began his term as president of the Skokie Chamber of Commerce, the bank said in a news release. Putrus is the manager of the bank’s Skokie branch at 8047 Skokie Blvd.

“We are truly proud of the contribution that both David and Michael have made to Evanston and Skokie, and we know both of them will inspire other members of the Chambers and their passion for their communities,” Yohanan said in the news release.
