Evanston will launch a new initiative in March in an attempt to assist local small businesses in their earliest stages of development, the city announced Friday.
The resource hub, called NextChapter, will “nurture Evanston’s freelance, solopreneur, and home-based businesses,” the city said in a news release. The resource hub will partner with private sector partners to provide free programming.
NextChapter, which will jointly be launched by the city and the Evanston Public Library, will provide workshops, mentorships and networking events. The program will help “emerging firms from their ‘kitchen table’ to Evanston’s co-working spaces, incubators and office spaces.”
NextChapter is currently seeking private sector partners to join with before the program officially launches, the city said.
