Woman who jumped off parking garage in downtown Evanston dies

The 22-year-old woman who jumped off a parking garage in downtown Evanston last month has died, according to authorities.

The woman was pronounced dead at 8:51 p.m. Thursday at Evanston Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy performed Friday found she died from multiple injuries, and her death was ruled a suicide.

The woman jumped off the parking garage at 1800 Maple Ave. on the morning of Nov. 22, a fire official said at the time.

Her death comes about a month after a former Northwestern student jumped to his death from another downtown parking garage. University spokesman Al Cubbage has said the woman has “no connection” to NU.
