Computer stolen from locked car
Someone stole a laptop from a car parked near Main Street on Thursday night, according to police.
A 32-year-old resident told police he locked his car in the parking garage below his apartment in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. A day later, the resident found the front passenger window broken.
The burglar took a computer bag carrying a Lenovo laptop, valued at $1,000, Parrott said. Detectives will look at security cameras in the parking garage in their investigation.
Laptop taken from home
A burglar took an Evanston woman’s laptop from her home Monday evening, Parrott said.
The burglar entered through an unlocked window to the 53-year-old woman’s home in the 1200 block of Greenleaf Street, according to police. The woman told police her laptop was stolen sometime during a half-hour period.
The burglar took the woman’s MacBook Pro, valued at $1,500, Parrott said. The woman gave her laptop’s serial number to police so it can be marked as stolen.
