Chicago woman arrested in connection with forgery
The Evanston Police Department arrested a Chicago woman Monday in connection with forgery and possession of marijuana.
The woman, 21, attempted to purchase a Bose SoundLink Air music system at Best Buy, 2301 Howard St., with counterfeit money, EPD spokesman Perry Polinski said. The speakers are worth $320.
Loss prevention officers detected the counterfeit cash and contacted the police. Officers arrested the woman in the store about 8:30 p.m. and also found 1.4 grams of marijuana on her person, Polinski said.
She was charged with marijuana possession and forgery and is scheduled to appear in court May 24.
