Robbers invade Evanston home
Two men allegedly invaded an Evanston resident’s home Wednesday.
The 36-year-old man was taking the garbage out of his home in the 1700 block of Monroe Street. On his way back inside, a man allegedly approached the resident, knocked him to the ground and punched him several times, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. The man then pointed a revolver at the resident and told him not to move. A second man reportedly took a 32-inch television and some medication from the home. EPD responded to the incident and treated the resident on the scene.
Thief steals car parts from Hondas
EPD received four reports of car accessory thefts Wednesday.
The thief allegedly stole catalytic converters from four Hondas parked at four locations: the 700 block of Monroe Street, 700 block of Reba Place, 1000 block of Austin Street and 700 block of Austin Street, Parrott said. The thefts occurred Tuesday overnight.
The thief most likely stole the specific car parts to resell them because the parts contain precious metal. Parrott said the four cases are “definitely connected.”
