Phone theft at Five Guys in Evanston
A 47-year-old Evanston resident lost his iPhone while dining at the downtown Evanston Five Guys Burgers and Fries, 816 Church St., on Wednesday night.
The man was having dinner around 8 p.m. Wednesday when a man grabbed his iPhone, valued at approximately $700, from the table and ran out the door. It is not clear whether the man was originally inside the restaurant or not, said Evanston Police Department spokesman Perry Polinski.
Private residence damaged in Evanston
Broken windows and garage graffiti were found on an Evanston home in the 2000 block of Grey Avenue that was damaged on Wednesday night.
The 19-year-old Evanston resident found a brick thrown at his front window. The graffiti found on the garage was identified as having gang symbolism. However, there is no evidence the gang graffiti is related with the brick throwing. Because he is familiar with the suspects, the man is currently working with EPD investigators to solve the case.
