Michigan resident arrested in Evanston with cannabis
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with carrying marijuana early Sunday morning.
A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 2500 block of Ashland Avenue by a security officer who works in the area. After responding, Evanston Police officers found a man sleeping in the vehicle, and after some searching, they discovered copious amounts of marijuana on him. He was then taken into custody and charged.
The man is scheduled to appear in court Mar. 28, EPD spokesman Perry Polinski said.
Evanston residential garage burgled
A 34-year-old Evanston resident discovered his garage was broken into between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Forced entry was made into the garage located in the 1400 block of Pitner Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday via a service door to the garage.
Toolboxes and their contents were taken, with a total value of $1,900, Polinski said.
Phone stolen by friend after offering ride
A 19-year-old Skokie woman reported the theft of her iPhone 5 around 3 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue.
The woman had offered her friend a ride. The friend borrowed her phone during the drive but never returned it afterwards. The woman assisted the investigation by providing a suspect, Polinski said.
